What is a home group? Home groups are typically groups of 8 – 12 people who meet regularly for a time of fellowship and study.
Why should I join a home group? To do life better! To get connected to others and to stay on our mission of loving others.
What kind of commitment is needed for a home group? During a Home Group Kick Off session we encourage your group to meet weekly for 4 weeks. After those 4 weeks, most groups choose to meet every 2 weeks. This session we encourage your group to meet weekly for these 3 weeks. Meeting times/days vary. You should plan on meeting 1 – 1 ½ hours per meeting.
Does it cost? There is no cost for a home group. Some studies do have books that can be purchased.
Where do we meet? Most groups rotate their meeting locations and meet at a different member’s houses each time. Other groups choose to meet in various locations such as a park or coffee house.
Do all groups eat together? It’s a personal choice among the groups. Some groups choose to have dinner, while some just have refreshments.
What about my kids? Each group is different. Some groups say “bring the kids” other people find their own childcare.
What is the best way to get involved? Call your friends and invite them to join you in a group, or contact Nancy Hampton at the church, 417-623-7090 or firstname.lastname@example.org and she will help you find a group that is right for you. Either way works!
