Why We Do What We Do

Our Mission

Leading people to an active faith in Jesus Christ.
God created us all for the purpose of relationship and Saint Paul’s is committed to helping bring people into relationship with God and with others through the Christ-centered community of the Church.

“The Son of Man has come to seek and save that which is lost.” (Luke 19:10)

Who We Are

Our Values

Saint Paul’s Church exists to bring people into relationship with God through Jesus Christ, to draw them into a Christ-centered community, and help them grow in their faith.

1. People Matter to God – All People

You matter to God, as does every person you know – and those you don’t know. People we agree with and people we couldn’t differ from more.

For the body does not consist of one member but of many. (1 Corinthians 12:14)

2. Serve Others

We are called to reach out to people. Not wait for people to come to us. Share God’s joy and love by serving others in your home, church, neighborhood and around the world. Discover your God-given gifts to learn how God has uniquely created you to serve others.

Use your freedom to serve one another in love. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Galatians 5:13-14)

3. God’s Word is God’s Living Voice

God speaks to us primarily as we listen to him through Scripture, His living voice. This is our guide and structure as a congregation, our teachings and the foundations of our individual lives.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness… (Timothy 3:16)

4. Connect in Community

Life is meant to be done together. God created us to have relationships with others. We encourage everyone to connect to their campus community by joining life groups, serving, or even just saying hello to someone new in church.

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another. (Hebrews 10:24-25)

5. Living Out the Mission is to Be Done With Consuming Joy

The mission of the church is not a chore. It is also not meant to be serious all of the time. Live a joyful abundant life. Life will always present us with pain and difficulties, but because of the power and presence of God in our lives, there can be joy that overwhelms those troubles.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)

Discover Saint Paul's

If you’re new to Saint Paul’s, this is the best place to get started! This class focuses on the vision of Saint Paul’s and what it looks like to love God, love people, and serve the world. This one-hour class meets at the Joplin campus every other month.  The goal of the class is to help you with your next steps at Saint Paul’s.

Baptism is an outward sign of what’s going on inwardly—an experience of God’s presence, and invitation of Jesus to keep working in us, and a way to say publicly, “I have decided to give my life to Jesus!” We are committed to guiding people in their faith journey as they take important steps forward, like baptism.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” (Matthew 28:19)

Wanting to be baptized?

We would love to talk more about the next step in you faith journey!

“Jesus started the tradition of communion. He instructed His followers to use bread and wine to remember the sacrifice He was going to make when He died for our sins on the cross.” (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

At Saint Paul’s, we believe that communion is not just for church members, but that communion is open to everyone.  We serve communion on the first Sunday of each month.  Come join us.

“Celebrating communion marks the story of Jesus, how He gave Himself completely to give us a better life, a new start, and a fresh relationship with God.” (1 Peter 3:18)
